it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Often times, special education is limited on resources. Especially, in a Title 1 school district, our funding is even more limited. For the past 8 years, I have worked hard to slowly create safe learning environment that brings comfort to our students. Recently, the students have benefited from an updated reading corner with flexible seating and a bookcase. But they are missing the final element of a rug .
A seemingly simple thing can truly provide students with a sense of security and fulfillment to encourage literacy.
Since a rug is at the bottom of the priority list for district funding, students need support from our community to make their second home feel like a home.
