This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students walk into my classroom and know that they are in a place where they are safe, loved, and free to express themselves. We not only work on curriculum, but we work on life skills.
I teach in a Title I school in Virginia where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Most of my students are from single parent homes or live with grandparents. They are a wonderful, energetic group of students, but they do not have the funds that other students have, thus lack many resources.
As a first year teacher, I cannot afford a lot so we need your help! Thank you for taking the time to look at our project!
My Project
My scholars need a few necessary materials to help our reading rotations go more smoothly. The first thing we need are headphones. We are a google classroom, so I have a lot of different websites that read books to my struggling readers. I also have a ton of educational games that talk to the students as they work. For students to reap all the benefits from these online resources, we need headphones.
We started the year with 13 headphones; we are now down to 9 and that is not working at all.
There are constant "battles" over headphones. We also need some flexible seating options for independent work/reading time. The flexible seat cushions are the perfect solution! And I think students will love them.
