This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, eager, and full of potential. They come from diverse backgrounds and face a variety of challenges, but they share one thing in common: a love for storytelling. They are curious, creative thinkers who thrive when they are engaged in hands-on learning, and they have a growing passion for literature that inspires and empowers them.

As they dive deeper into reading and writing, it's important that I provide them with books that are not only challenging but also deeply relevant to their lives.

That's where The Hunger Games comes in — a powerful text that explores themes of survival, power, and morality, all while sparking deep conversations.

I’m requesting a class set of The Hunger Games (enough copies for all of my students to read together), along with light covers for our classroom to help create a more comfortable and focused reading environment.

-The Hunger Games Class Set: This gripping, thought-provoking novel by Suzanne Collins is perfect for engaging students with complex themes while encouraging critical thinking and rich classroom discussions. By reading this book together, students will explore themes such as bravery, sacrifice, and social justice, while learning to analyze character development and plot structure.

-Light Covers for the Classroom: Our classroom is filled with natural light, but sometimes, especially in the afternoon, the harsh lighting makes it difficult to focus and concentrate. Light covers will help diffuse the light, creating a more calming and focused environment for reading, writing, and learning.

The students in my class are eager for new experiences and new ideas, and this project will give them the opportunity to dive into a text that is both exciting and meaningful. With your help, we can build a classroom community where students feel supported, encouraged, and excited about learning.
