This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students I teach are excited, hard-working, and ready to learn to read! Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has limited their access to regular, systematic reading instruction. As a result, the majority of our students school-wide are significantly at risk readers. We are creating a new intervention program to provide targeted support to meet each student where they’re at, and to do that, we are setting up a new reading room! Your donations will support the creation of a room that is organized and inviting for students to learn. It is my hope that kids are excited to come to the reading room each day because they love to become better readers!
