Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are motivated to read! They continue to want to advance in reading levels on their own. We need your help to get more books!

My students are 1st graders in a Dual Immersion classroom in southern California.

They are advancing in guided reading levels in both English and Spanish. They are eager and willing to do the work in order to improve in both languages. The best part is that they are self motivated! They want to learn!

My Project

I am requesting an assortment of leveled books, 1 book rack, 3 sets of book bins, and 3 sets of book boxes. Having access to leveled books is a must in our classroom library. In order to be able to do this they need book bins in which our classroom books can be organized so that each student can find their just right leveled book. By locating appropriately leveled reading books, students feel successful and want to continue reading.

Encouraging students to read is easy....but getting them to do it on their own can only be done by having access to "just right" books.

They need labeled bins with leveled books in their classroom library that make selecting and managing these books easy for students. My rocking readers need bins to organize their books!
