This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Kinders want to learn to read. Reading isn't something that comes naturally to students. Our brains are wired to learn the smallest sounds in words and put together to decode the word. Once that happens we learn to match a specific letter or combinations of letters to put the decoded word into print.

Reading is rocket science.

Students will use the wands and choose a chip as they segment each sound heard in the word given. Once they have those sounds they will blend to hear the word and use print to write the sounds they hear. In turn they will be reading that word.
