My Project
As a second grade teacher it is my goal to build readers in my classroom as well as instill the love of reading. I have some experience with the Rooted in Reading curriculum however they are releasing a newer addition for second grade that supports comprehension, grammar, foundational skills, and vocabulary. I introduce these skills through interesting and diverse picture books. This grant would allow me to purchase all the books necessary for the updated curriculum. These books would include different genres such as biographies, poetry, and nonfiction. With this grant I am hoping to grow lifelong readers.
