I have an incredible group of students that deserve the best that I can offer.
My school is located in a suburb of Atlanta, GA.
We are a Title 1 school with over 50% of our population on free and reduced price lunch. I teach special needs preschool students. I teach them from the day they turn three years old, if they qualify for services, and they leave me when they enter Kindergarten. My particular classroom contains mainly students with Autism or students who thrive in a more visual, structured classroom. Each and every student has something to teach me. I only hope that I can teach them something during the short time they are with me.
I have changed schools, and this means that I need to fix up my new classroom for my students. My rooms lacks several items that are essential in every preschool room. Some of the other items in the room are old and are starting to fall apart. That being said, the book center provided is coming apart. Part of the wood has broken off and many of the screws are loose and cannot be screwed back in. This creates a safety hazard, and I had to throw it out.
Every preschool classroom needs a cozy, interesting, enticing book center.
It is essential that children this age are excited about going to the book center to 'read' books. Becoming excited about looking at books is the first step in teaching them to read.
My children need the classic birch reading nook and the flex space comfy floor seats to spark their interest in reading.
