I work in a self-contained school for children with Autism and a variety of other severe disabilities. My class has students age 5-8 with Autism. Most of my students cannot read. I have attempted to use typical reading programs with my students but have had no success. They still cannot read.
I need a reading program that fits the unique needs of my students. I believe that Edmark is that program. Students with Autism have very strong visual perception. Edmark uses visual stimuli to teach students to read. Edmark also teaches one word at a time. When one word is mastered, we can move onto the next at an individual pace.
Edmark reading program was specifically designed for students like mine. Edmark lets all students be successful and appropriately receive constant verbal praise and reinforcement from those teaching them.
Many students with a variety of disabilities have had success using this program. I am confident that Edmark will help my students to become great readers.
