My Students
Help me trash the worksheets and move towards more hands-on learning centers that will last for years!
My students are eager, happy, hardworking kindergartners in a public school in Georgia.
They enjoy working cooperatively and learning through their play. They love exploring, investigating, and thrive in a risk free environment. These materials allow them to explore the sounds and words of our language in a non-threatening, yet instructionally sound way.
My Project
These materials will be used on a daily basis in my English Language Arts Centers. Some materials will be used in small groups with students and a teacher working together. At other times these materials will be used by children working independently. The sight word games will be used in ELA centers by cooperative groups. Plinko is sure to be a class favorite, and will be used weekly as part of our phonics station. We will use the word building games to complement our guided reading station. The CD roms will be used at different computers during ELA centers. These materials will allow for independent work, group work, and teacher led work. It's a fit for every kind of learner in every situation!
These materials will be used for several years and will allow my students to feel successful and develop positive attitudes towards school and specifically towards learning to read.
They will see learning to read as something that is challenging, but fun and engaging.
