My students need voice recorders to take home with them nightly. These will be used so that students can record their reading at home and I can analyze it the next day.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Each student comes with his or her own story and home life. I try to create a classroom where students can come to feel safe, valued and understood. I have typical and a-typical students within my room. Therefore, my students abilities range from far below grade level to just above grade level.
Creating a classroom where every learner is valued is a challenging task at times.
Therefore, the tech tools that are bought will be used to help students with the various leveled abilities.
My Project
These voice recorders will be used daily to help my guided reading groups. Many of my students have parents who are either working or cannot speak English. These students therefore have no one to read to at home. I want to allow these students to use the voice recorders at home so they can record their reading. Then, I can listen to their reading the next day to see how their fluency and decoding is truly going outside the classroom. This will also be a natural motivator for students who do not like to read. They will enjoy being able to record their voices!
