Help me give my students a reading corner with a nice carpet, book shelves, book cases for our class library, new books, mini composition notebooks to write their book reviews, and a carpet sweeper and cleaner.
We are creating a reading resource center for our STEM class, with a mixture of various genres. My students get to select the books they love to read, such as Robotics, Engineering & Anime! They are also interested in learning Japanese and so we are ordering resources to help them learn.
Our STEM reading resource center will be equipped with updated science books & structured to have a carpet area where students can sit on the floor to read.
We need to be able to clean our carpet after each class and can use a sweeper and cleaning agent to do this. We need several bookcases so that we can organize all the different genres. Students will easily review, select, and begin reading. The mini composition notebooks will be used to document questions, what they are learning, and reflect on the stories they are reading.
We need several different books of interest such as "25 Projects" to investigate the STEM field, and "How to learn Japanese"! We also need wall shelves and floor-standing bookcases. We will be utilizing colorful tapes to color code different sections of our bookcases and shelves.
The goal of this project is to encourage students to read more, to love to read, as well as be comfortable when reading science books. Reading develops their imagination, increases their vocabulary, and replaces boredom. Our students are special because they want to learn how to code and learn other languages such as Japanese, how to draw anime characters and are excited about our reading crew.
