Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are requesting funding to purchase new hardcover and board books for our first grade classroom. Many of our most-loved paperback titles have become too worn to use, with many having ripped pages and covers. Our book hospital is overflowing! Replacing them with sturdier editions will ensure they last through years of eager readers. We hope to restock favorites such as the Froggy series, Dog Man and Cat Kid, If You Give a Mouse a..., and There Was an Old Lady Who series, as well as some new stories from favorite authors. My students work incredibly hard every single day, and they are always excited for reading time.
Books are a huge part of our classroom culture—they spark imagination, build confidence, and open new worlds.
Seeing their faces light up when they discover a new story (or revisit an old favorite) is truly magical. New, durable books will mean fewer ripped pages and more time spent diving into adventures, solving silly mysteries, and laughing out loud together. With your help, we can give these hardworking first graders the gift of stories that inspire, entertain, and support their growth as readers. We would be beyond grateful for your support!
