My Students
I am a third-grade teacher at an inner-city school. I am privileged to work with 28 amazing children who are eager to learn and use any learning tools they are given. My students have a tremendous amount of learning to do this upcoming year, and most of it happens from repetition and practice.
My students like to read, participate, and ask questions!
Working as an elementary teacher in a low-income and high poverty inner-city district is challenging itself. My students face several challenges, both in and out of the classroom. Whichever challenge they meet, I strive to provide my students with the creative and meaningful learning experiences they deserve!
My Project
All of my students would greatly benefit from having new books added to our Classroom Library. We currently have no books because of COVID-19.
The exposure of different types of books is vital for children's learning because of the vocabulary, storylines, plots, photographs and more being used.
Students all aid in the love of reading books. If you don't a variety of books or have incorrect appropriate grade level books, it will turn any child and scholar away from enjoying reading. This is what is happening in my classroom. For every grade level reading level book, I have very few so students have been rotating books. My students are not getting the full experience of the different types and variations that books come in!
New classroom library books will impact and influence student learning immensely.
