My students need hands-on, group activities to help build their basic reading skills. With these activities to be used in pairs and groups, students can learn with and from each other to become successful readers!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Szady's classroom raised $571

My Students
I teach in a Title 1 school, where many students are from low income families with both parents working long hours. This means that many times parents just don't have the extra time to support their child's education at home, but they do the best they can and it shows with our families.
"I read that!"
That is the excitement I get to hear when my Kindergarteners learn something new- be it a new word or have begun reading simple sentences and small books.
My students enter with various levels of Kindergarten readiness and spend so much time working together to learn and build each other up to become successful!
My Project
My students will grown in phonics, word building, sentence building, listening comprehension, social skills, and more while using these activities.
With these hands on, group activities students will be able to learn from and help each other grow.
Working together is such a key skill in Kindergarten that can be used in academic learning. Students will be able to work together as they explore phonics, word building, sentence building, and even listening and reading comprehension as we prepare to be amazing readers!
Learning to read can and should be a fun and meaningful experience to be shared with others, not alone!
