Reading Railroad: College Bound!

My students need 6 bean bag chairs for comfortable reading in preparation for college!

Interacting with the fifteen special needs students at my rural school inspires me to work hard every day! We have a wonderful large classroom and a good collection of desks. We even have a table for group work.

However, we do not have a comfortable area in which to read. My students are bright and talented, but often struggle with reading comprehension or fluency. Many of them are several grade levels behind in their reading scores. Nearly all of my students wish to attend college one day and work admirably each day to improve their reading.

I want to provide my students with a reading area in which they will feel safe and comfortable. Bean bag chairs will provide a relaxing setting for individual or group reading exercises. Sometimes simply making the environment more welcoming can encourage reading, I believe a comfy seating option will do this for my students. We currently have one rocker chair that they love to read in and there is usually a race to see who can sit there!
