My students need a variety of books to choose from during independent reading times, and a bookshelf to display books based on our current classroom objectives.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am blessed to have 24 energetic, fun, and loving students this year! Our classroom is very diverse with many different backgrounds, which has expanded the opportunities for learning new things.
My students are inquiry-based learners who seize the opportunity to learn new things everyday.
By learning through hand-on-activities, my students have become better problem solvers who enjoy making sense of the world around them.
My students are truly an amazing group of kiddos who genuinely care about one another.
My Project
My students are in need of a variety of different books to read during independent reading times. All students will be able to choose from a wide selection of books that may peek his or her interest. My students will also be able to check out books to read at home or even on the playground.
Having a variety of different books will encourage my students to step out of their comfort zone and indulge in many different genres of books.
This will build literacy skills as they will be able to compare and contrast between the books they choose to read.
