In our classroom we use a computer based reading program to help support literacy development and are in need of specialty headphones! My students are at the perfect age for rapid reading instruction. This reading program allows each student to work on individual goals and read out loud to their computer for instant correction and feedback. The program utilizes headphones with a microphone for this to occur. My students need smaller child size headphones with a microphone and a jack for this program to work effectively.

As a Montessori school, students only utilize computers for reading instruction and additional tutoring in language development. The Rhythm Sticks will help support Phonological Awareness instruction during regular class instruction. This helps children hear and feel the language of reading before seeing it on the page. Rhythm Sticks are used in rhyming, segmenting, and counting of words in a sentence. Your gift of these materials to my classroom will help support students reading for several years to come.
These Reading Program Headphones and Rhythm Sticks will help give the gift of reading to our earliest learners! My students are both pre-kindergarten and kindergartens age students who would love this special gift. In our daily instruction, students receive explicit phonological awareness and phonics instruction that aids in reading development. Our computer program is an additional support for reading instruction and is individually tiered for each child’s needs. Students will use these Microphone Headphones to directly read to the computer program. This supports correcting reading errors, pronunciation, blending, and mouth placement when making letter sounds! In addition, this supports English Language Learners in their journey of learning to speak, read, and write English. Please give my students the gift of literacy development!
