I teach students with various reading abilities. I would like my students to enjoy reading and develop a love for it by having them read at the pace and level they are on. This will enable me as the instructor to reach all learners.
My students are inner city children in Baltimore City with different gifts, talents and abilities.
They are so eager to learn, however, due to limit resources but a high demand to meet state standards, our students lack what they so desperately need to often. Our children come from all different backgrounds and are considered to be high needs students.
My Project
These resources will help all students gain a love for reading and a thirst to go to their public libraries to read more books. Reading is an essential part of all of our lives and many inner city children are not exposed to different book genres. The reading level library will reach all students no matter where they are. The goal is to see students go higher in levels so they can see their growth.
Reading is truly my passion because it crosses so many other subjects.
Our school has few books and this would be a great opportunity for our students to view books they may not have the chance to otherwise. This gives me the opportunity to track growth and give students positive feedback.
