My students and our school are a diverse group of learners.
They love to learn and are always eager to please. In my classroom of 20 third graders, we have kids who have special needs, those who come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, and students of different races. We are learning and looking to expand our knowledge through independence, working as a team and building a classroom family.
With a new classroom carpet, we will be able to meet for morning meeting, have a gathering area for read-alouds, as well as, for whole group instruction.
We know that not all children learn the same, but this goes for reading as well!
With leveled guiding reading materials, I will be able to instruct my students based on their reading levels. These two systems will allow me to meet with skills groups based on the individual needs of the children in my class. I will be able to give them specialized instruction in various groupings and hone in on exactly what they need to learn more effectively.
