We have students who want to read and compete in the Reading Olympics, but our school does not have the funding to provide them with the books to compete. Keep the spark of reading alive for our kids!
My kids are a diverse group of students who attend a large inner city Public School in Pennsylvania.
My students are in 4-6th grade and are receiving special education services for learning support. Despite the low socioeconomic conditions of our neighborhood, our students strive to do their best. They are passionate and respectful and I am proud to be their teacher.
My Project
These resources will allow our students to have access to more reading materials, and to also compete in the Reading Olympics for 2013. The books that you purchase for my students will not only provide them with extra support academically, but will also give them a lesson in love and kindness. This is a very valuable lesson for my students, especially when you consider the area they live in and the conditions they live in.
This donation will affect every one of my students by helping them continue their love for reading.
This will also increase their reading comprehension as they compete in the Reading Olympics. Another important impact is this will teach my students that there is love and kindness in the world. They witness enough evil in their everyday life and in their neighborhood.
