This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having a comfortable classroom library is important for students. It will give them the library they love and will enjoy utilizing everyday. With adding a beanbag to my classroom library, students can have a comfortable place to sit while they read. Not only can they read, they can utilize it as a calm corner where they can take a break or breather when feeling overwhelmed. With the help of clipboards, students can easily grab one and work in the library when they are working independently and have flexible seating.
The variety of these books, chosen by students, will encourage students to read more and will ultimately help their reading fluency and reading comprehension.
Students are excited to read the books that they love and when they see a complete series of those books, they will be encouraged to read all of them. This will help create a passion for reading in my students.
