This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I took over a first-grade class in the middle of the year last school year. It was tough not having that initial time to create a space that works for me and my teachings. I ended up making a small library area with the resources I had and my students loved it!
I want a safe, calm, and inclusive reading nook for them to go to enjoy some quiet reading with a new rug and floor seats.
I already bought two of the chairs and the kids love them. I would love to create an updated library area for them. At the end of the year my students wrote about what they would miss from 1st grade and most, if not all, mentioned the library.
