My Students
My school is a large primary school in an area that is a mix between lower and middle class. Although we are not considered Title I, we are a lower income school. Our school is a community school, ranging from Kindergarten to 2nd grade.
Our world is ever changing.
Because of this, some nonfiction books can quickly become outdated. My students love reading, and especially get excited for nonfiction. Scholastic News, sent on a monthly basis, can enhance my students understanding of the world with current information.
My Project
My students love nonfiction books, especially the boys in my classroom. To satisfy their love of nonfiction, Scholastic News, a weekly magazine, will introduce my first grade students to nonfiction through engaging articles about science and current events. A subscription to Scholastic News will increase the world view of my students. The magazines will hit on current and popular topics and will allow us to discuss these ideas. It is extremely important to introduce elementary students to nonfiction and Scholastic News is a great way to do this.
My students need 25 copies of Scholastic News magazine to help expand their world through reading.
My students will be able to read about real-life topics on a timely basis with this subscription.
