Help me give my students some essential tools to grow in reading and math. Supplies like the dice for multiplication games, comprehension reader packs, and fluency cards will help my students develop critical math and reading skills.
My students are amazing! Many of the students here are homeless, receive free or reduced lunch, speak another language, and struggle to even get to school. However, we don't see any of those things as excuses. My class works hard and I have high expectations for all of them. My expectations are difficult and are going to push them to be their very best.
No matter what background any of them come from I believe that with hard work they can make their future what they want it to be.
My Project
Providing students with resources to help them where they are at is foundational to their ability to grow as a person. By helping provide these targeted resources my students will get exactly what they need for exactly the skill they struggle with. During both my math and reading intervention times these activity books, dice, partner scripts, and other supplies will be used to target specific skills my students need to work on; skills like understanding main idea and details, summarizing, citing text evidence, multiplication, place value, and number sense. These are all critical skills to helping my students be successful fourth graders.
