On Friday, March 13, I waved goodbye to my 3rd graders, walked into my classroom, and began to prepare our space for Monday morning. I never in my wildest dreams believed I would not see my kids again. I never thought that I would not be able to give my kids meaningful learning experiences and prepare them for the next grade. This pandemic has taken us to a new level of learning that I and my sweet students are struggling to navigate.
My kids are hands-on, smart, and eager learners.
It has taken us most of the school year to understand that learning is an adventure and that we should be learning from what we do, not just finishing an assignment. You will find my kids hard at work and sharing their knowledge with others. You will find them teaching each other (and myself) about their new learner, new languages, our families, and how to be leaders in our communities. I am extremely proud of each and every one of my kids. They truly deserve to have the opportunity to continue their growth.
While we only have a few weeks left of school, we are in high gear for learning and preparing for next year! We are very fortunate that we have most of our class participating in online learning. We have decided as a class family that we need to make our learning fun.
We truly miss each other and our class family.
Before all of this, we were reading a novel together. We were practicing our multiplication facts. We were engaged in finding different activities to help us remember our learning. Through this project, we will be able to continue our learning online and through the summer. Students will be able to engage in an online reading club with our novel. Students will have the opportunity to join me in math card games from the comfort of their own homes and more importantly, my students will be ready for 4th grade math with practicing their multiplication facts. Your donation will allow my kids the chance to keep learning with each other and with me!
