My Students
The students in my classroom are either in 5th, 6th, or 7th grade and receive extra reading instruction outside of the general education classroom. These students are working towards meeting individualized reading goals. Strategies and alternative teaching materials help my students meet their goals.
Hands on reading activities keep my students engaged, attentive, and increase their love for reading.
Materials at the appropriate level and that are engaging, bring out the love for reading my students desire. As my students walk in my classroom door, the first question they have is if they can play one of my interactive reading games. The best part is seeing the excitement they have when they are engaged in a task that is appropriate for their level.
My Project
These materials I am requesting are for students who need extra support in reading to meet their individual reading goals. For these students, reading is not an easy task and can pose as a challenge, which can turn students away from reading. This reading kit is a way for students to be engaged in their reading through hands-on activities, games, and inviting topics that are suitable for their appropriate reading level.
Purchasing this kit will increase students self-confidence in reading and individualized reading goals.
Students will be engaged throughout their reading sessions and continue to grow as a reader. Also, as students build confidence in their reading, they will increase their social skills through the hands on activities in a small group setting.
