This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The books for this project were chosen based on my student population, which is approximately 50% Hispanic and 50% African American. My students enjoy being read to, and have come to love reading for pleasure as well as to learn.
By donating to this project, you will help expose my students to culturally diverse literature as well as provide more opportunities to build their reading comprehension.
The books I have selected will be used to engage students in daily read alouds and small group instruction followed by comprehension building activities using the construction paper to make foldables to record their thoughts and noticing.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
