Help me give my students flexible seating options and notebooks they can use for just reading, as almost all of my students have only one for all subjects. Lastly, the "Refugee" book for a new novel study!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I know I'm biased, BUT I have the most amazing 7th graders. They are so eager to learn and have the greatest discussions. A key theme in our room is proving your answers with text evidence and as you walk past my room you'll often hear a student yell, "PROVE IT!" and then another student immediately citing their evidence with confidence.
Another norm in our room is respectful debates.
I let me students know that their ideas/opinions are important and should be heard, and so often they are encouraged to debate an answer using reasoning and citations. Not only does this engage them in their learning, but provides them skills to be respectful individuals who know how to articulate their thoughts and stand up for what they think.
My Project
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.7.10
By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poems, in the grades 6-8 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range.
A class set of the book, "Refugee" will hit on almost every reading literature standard. Because it is historical fiction, it will also include non-fiction standards as well, as articles will be tied into the novel.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.7.10
By the end of the year, read and comprehend literary nonfiction in the grades 6-8 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range.
