Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a class of 20 energetic and enthusiastic students. Our school is a Title I school where most students come from low-income or poverty-stricken homes. All of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Most are English Language Learners while some have special needs. These students come to school eager to learn every day with big smiles on their faces regardless of their circumstances.
I want to help these students in every way that I can in order for them to be successful in reaching their goal of developing their skills, and of course, have fun!
My Project
This year, I will be incorporating flexible seating in my classroom to offer my students different choices of seating during their independent reading. The requested items will provide comfort, as well as help create a fun and inviting environment that will strengthen my students love of reading! Offering choices will also allow my students to take ownership of their learning and find what choice works well for them.
The pillows and floor cushions are soft and comfortable seating options that can be used in different areas around the classroom.
The wobble cushions can be used for those students who need a little wiggle room while they reading. The students will love the different options as it enhances their learning.
