Technology is a great teaching aid and learning tool, but with the increase of use in technology students are beginning to lack social skills to collaborate with peers. My vision is to have a good balance between technology and face to face interaction.
The students in my classroom do not come with many "extras" such as a print rich environment or a technological one either.
I strive to provide a well rounded education for the students by giving them opportunities with new technology and teaching them life lessons through print materials.
My Project
The students will use the books written by Julia Cook to help build social skills at a young age. The lessons within the captivating pictures will teach students how to appropriately interact with one another and build positive peer relationships within the classroom community.
The materials requested in this project will help improve classroom community and collaboration among students.
Within the classroom, many Kagan strategies are implemented that require team/peer collaboration to complete a task. Julia Cook's books can help improve our collaboration skills and build a stronger classroom community.
