Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach an autism specific special day class of kindergartners and first graders. My students are curious about the world around them. They love a good story. My students are beginning readers and some are reading independently. They are adjusting to learning with me via Zoom.

My Project

My students currently do not have access to our classroom library. I would like to provide them with a lending library for the remainder of the school year. We have already practiced in class with some Dr. Seuss books, and I know how much my students love Dr. Seuss. My students love the humor in and adventures found in Dr. Seuss books.

These books are at the instructional level and practice level for my students.

I know these books will inspire them to continue reading during distance learning. Please help inspire my students in their reading and exercising their imagination!
