This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I will be entering my 9th year teaching and I am looking to expand my classroom library. I am looking to challenge my students and spend some time learning the foundation of knowledge and skills in reading, they will need as they move forward in advanced studies. They are excited to explore the world of high school, to learn about the classics, and to expand their capacity for critical thinking. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning. By expanding my classroom library they will have access to books not readily available to them.

My Project

The books that I am requesting for my students will help give them an array of choices to read. I just need your help in getting everything through our door! They will be placed on the shelves in the back of our classroom and will help facilitate the reading process. It will be easier for me to implement a more sustained reading time in the classroom as well as helping my students build stamina. Many students need to have book choice in order to foster a love of reading and these books will help my kids and I achieve that goal together.
