Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are hard workers, caring, always learning, and yet so different from one another. The student population at my school is primarily Hispanic, Asian, and African-American.
I teach at a Title I school in the Atlanta area, and most of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch!
The parents of my students are very involved and willing to help me and their child out. Each of my students has a different personality that I have enjoyed getting to know.
My Project
Imagine sitting home during a world pandemic no one thought would happened with no access to any books besides the ones you may have at home or have checked out from the school library before March 12th. Many of my students are currently sitting at home right now with no books to read.
These books will keep my students engaged while they are currently at home and over their summer break.
These books will keep all of my students interested in reading due to the books covering a vast array of topics. These books will be a celebration of all the hard work my students put in this school year inside the classroom and at home.
