Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students this year are very special, very sweet, and very respectful. From the moment they walk in the classroom, I can see that they are eager to learn. We are in a low-income district and many of my students' parents work very hard to provide for their families.
As a teacher, I would like for my students to have different books to choose from so that they can continue to improve in reading.
I have also noticed that they get super excited when we read as a class and learn about science. My students also like to read in groups of two, and I know they will love these books.
My Project
My goal for my students this year is to help them read at grade level. I am requesting Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries, and Dog Man books (along with a few others) because I have noticed that my students are enjoying reading this year and would like for them to have more books to choose from so they can improve in reading. They are working hard in this area, and I feel very proud of them.
Having these books in my classroom will allow my students to significantly improve in reading.
I have noticed that they enjoy reading these kinds of books and know that my students will be very excited to have them available in our classroom.
