My Students

Nestled in the foothills of North Carolina, this small, community school needs resources. My students love to read and learn new things! Our PreK to 5th grade school is in a high poverty area and currently we have a 100% free and reduced lunch rate. Even though this is a tiny school our students deserve to have quality resources they can use.

Our students are hungry to learn new things and they enjoy coming to the library for story time/technology time each week.

My Project

With the project Reading is the Key to Success, students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades will have new library books as they begin to learn to read.

These easy to read books will help not only our beginning readers but also our older students who struggle with reading.

All of these books will be accessable to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Students are always excited to see new library books for check out and often refer them to their friends to read. Of course, I'm always thrilled to be able to provide them with new things to read!
