My Project

Next year, I will be moving to teach 3rd grade, and I’m incredibly excited about this new adventure! With this transition comes the need to refresh my classroom library to better match my new group of students' interests, reading levels, and curiosity.

Third grade is such a critical year for building a love of reading.

Students are beginning to explore chapter books more deeply, discover favorite genres, and engage with stories that reflect both their own lives and the wider world around them. I want to provide them with a rich, engaging, and diverse selection of books that will not only support their academic growth but also inspire a lifelong passion for reading.

This will support my students by addressing opportunity gaps and providing equitable access to books. Many of my students come from low-income households and may not otherwise have access to these essential tools. By incorporating this into our classroom, I can better meet their academic needs, support social-emotional development, and foster a more engaging, inclusive learning environment.
