My Students
My students are curious kids who love learning, and especially reading about non fiction topics. Children are so curious about the world, and learning about non fiction topics helps to open up so many possibilities for them.
The projects they enjoyed throughout the year were our science and social studies based topics such as plants, planets, learning about real people who made a difference in the world, and Native Americans.
My students will benefit from having more non fiction reading material in the classroom.
My Project
During the school year, we do many science and social studies based projects that require a lot of non fiction reading.
We will be using the science books to do research based projects in class.
These books will be used by the students to learn about the different science and social studies topics and then present what they learned to the students.
The science magazine subscription will allow my students to have more non fiction reading practice with which to practice as a class. We will read the science articles and practice using our non fiction reading skills such as main idea and details, which is not only essential for their reading, but writing about non fiction topics too.
It will make it easier to practice together because we will have a class set with which to read.
