This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a diverse place, where we all share a common love and passion—learning! We are always looking for the next challenge and what more we can learn. We are a Title I school with the majority of our students receiving free or reduced priced lunches. Forever wanting the best for all of my students, I want to make my classroom the most enriching and exciting environment I possibly can.

I have a bright, talented and fun bunch of fourth-grade students.

My Project

My class loves to read and have discussions. We particularly love novels that relate to elementary students. Fish in a Tree is a wonderful novel that teaches students that it is ok to be different and good friends can help you through difficult times. This book will have wonderful discussion topics, will help increase their fluency and comprehension, and challenge their reading abilities. Our reading rug will give us a place to lounge and read.

With this project, I want to keep the love of reading strong in my classroom and give my students a comfy area to go and take reading out of this world!
