My Students

Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. My library students have big dreams. They are curious, hard-working, and full of potential, but families and schools struggle economically in our region.

I want to provide a warm, inviting library filled with books and materials that will spark interest, stimulate learning, and feed my students' natural curiosities.

I want my students to learn, grow, and be successful in today's competitive world and long to give them the strong start they need. I don't want a lack of materials to get in the way of these bright young people becoming avid readers, inquisitive learners, life-long explorers, and seekers of knowledge. When given the right tools, who knows the great heights these young people can reach! I long to be able to help them achieve what they dream of and reach their goals.

My Project

Our library contains lots of old and worn out or damaged books, but I am working hard to make our collection more current and appealing, but as I weed the shelves of outdated titles, I need to provide my students with new and exciting titles to replace them.

From interesting non-fiction titles to old favorites like The Velveteen Rabbit and newer books featuring Piggie and Gerald from Mo Willems, I long to fill my shelves with books that will draw children in to the library more and get them excited about checking out and reading the treasures that they find there.
