Fostering my students to learn in a safe and comfortable environment has always been one of the most important factors in my classroom.
What better way to encourage lifelong readers than creating a cozy place to curl up with a good read in the classroom?
Think about it. Where do you like to read? Sitting upright in a metal chair? No way!
This project is the answer the conundrum of teaching kids to love reading while in school! I hope you can help create this cute and cozy space for all of my future kiddos at CMS!
My Project
I can't wait to transform my classroom into a reading lounge for my 6th grade ELA students. On top of the cozy chairs, lap desks, and comfy carpet I will be adding warm lighting. My overall goal for transforming my classroom is to encourage and assist students in meeting their reading goal. My hope is that each student will be able to independently read 40 books this year!
If you are unable to donate monetarily I'm still looking for more seating, such as gently used gaming chairs, bean bag chairs, over sized pillows, butterfly chairs, bungee chairs, ADK chairs etc.
I'm excited about putting this classroom renovation out into the world, and hope you will help my vision come to fruition for the future students in my classroom for many years to come. Thank you!
