My students come from low socio-economic backgrounds in a community in Central Florida. We are a Title I school in which most of our students receive free and reduced lunch and free school uniforms.
My students are special because they strive to be leaders in our neighborhood.
Our motto as a school is following Leader In Me and creating America's Future Leaders. Our students, despite their backgrounds, work to their greatest potential everyday to be America's Future Leaders. Please help us!
My Project
Our goal in our district this year is to focus on authentic literacy. My students are reading higher level books than I currently have in my library. I want to give them every chance to succeed so I need for books such as Goosebumps, Dork Diaries, The Boxcar Children, Cam Jansen, Henry and Mudge, and Harry Potter for them to be successful.
My goal this year is to make students fall in love with reading.
Our students participate in the AR reading program, which motivates them to read more and more. We are also participating in the Book-It challenge from Pizza Hut.
In order to be successful in our endeavors, we need more books to read.
