My Students
What is your why?
While students at our school come from high poverty backgrounds, the challenges they may face on a daily basis have not affected their passion for learning.
At our school, students come from a low socioeconomic background. 100 percent of students receive free lunches, indicating that their families are at the federal poverty level.
As educators, we strive to create an environment that is relevant and engaging to our students. We work our hardest to provide students with experiences that will encourage them as learners and fuel their desire to learn. It is important that these students have resources and activities to set them up for success.
My Project
Although we will not be returning to the classroom this August and as we start our year of remotely, my students still need learning experiences that they would have had in the classroom. I want to keep my students reading and providing them with high quality literature is key.
I would like to provide my students with engaging and culturally relevant literature for a book study to help start our year of strong!
I plan on reading these books with my classes by distributing them to my students to read at their houses so that we can do a virtual novel study as a class.
