Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are very young (3-4 years old) and love reading books of all kinds! I love to see them picking up a book and looking and touching the pages as they read a book they choose. This year, most of the students in my class have been diagnosed with autism or speech and or language impairment, and I can see their language and joint attention increasing as they read books that are age-appropriate.

Giving them books that are sensory touch will be another way to support their learning as early readers.

Books like "STOP and Read This Book": Interactive Sensory Book, baby bath books, fabric soft baby cloth bBooks, and Nursery Rhymes: with a Sing-Along Music CD will be used throughout the day, especially during our story time.

The goal is to provide sensory touch books to all my students that will provide multi-sensory experiences, encourage interaction and make reading fun throughout the day! I would love to see them continue to enjoy books!
