This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to send my students home with phonics kits to practice over the summer. I also want them to have paper, pencils, and art supplies to encourage them to write over the summer. I'm hoping to activate their imaginations and creativity through reading and writing.
Writing is just as important as reading in avoiding the summer slump!
As they read, draw and write I hope that they'll go outside to seek more adventures to write about. An active mind is a wonderful companion for an active body. Both can prepare our kids for the upcoming year of academic demands.
