My Students
My students are an amazing group of creative, inquisitive, and eager to learn individuals. They are hard-working everyday and I enjoy watching the effort they put in. I work in a Title I school where the majority of my students are African American and come from a low socioeconomic background. I am blessed to work with them all.
These students are all unique and special in their own ways, including the way they learn and focus.
They love hands-on material and engaging with one another. Every student has mixed abilities and different needs. They work really hard and perform to the best of their abilities.
My Project
These books and activities will help to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students enjoy exploring. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. These books have been chosen with my students in mind.
To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I could use material that can help increase reading comprehension that are fun and engaging.
Students will be able to use the storytelling pieces to help build language and comprehension skills, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. They have missed some of the basic foundational skills necessary for optima learning.
Covid-19 has drastically impacted the education of my young scholars. They have been through a lot and it has impacted their reading ability and social-emotional wellness. They will be able to choose books and activities that, whether or not they can read them, they will be able to successfully engage with the material. My students have an astonishing interest in reading and listening to reading due to my daily read alouds.
