My Students

I am a First Grade teacher at a H.O.T. (Higher Order Thinking School) intra-district magnet school.

We strongly believe in educating the whole child (emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually).

First Grade is a very exciting time as students build upon what they learned in Kindergarten while also continuing to ignite curiosity and wonder about the world around them.

We want to expose our students to many different ways of learning and thinking so they can add and build upon the tools they will need to succeed throughout their education.

My Project

The Magic Tree House set, Henry & Mudge, Pete the Cat, and Biscuit books will add to the breadth of available titles our students have access to in the classroom. These books will fit nicely in our book pouches and chair pockets for easy access.

These books will also help our students to continue to fall in love with reading as they hone their skills as they read books with subject matter they're interested in.

Cultivating the love and joy of reading is truly fundamental to lifelong success as our students continue along both in school and out of school.
