This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
5th Grade is Awesome, Reading is Fun! These are the words I love to hear from my students. In 5th grade students really build their love of reading and start to form connections to the stories they are reading. I would like to have a class set of Hatchet and some other reading options for small groups so that students can participate in novel studies. Teachers Pay Teachers has amazing partner activities that support student learning alongside these novels.
Reading groups give students the opportunity to participate in academic discourse, which allows them to build comprehension, and speech, and make connections to real-life situations alongside their peers.
