My Students
When was the last time you read a book that was so good you couldn't put it down? My students are at a great age to discover the wonders of reading and need to experience some of the great literature that is out there.
My students come from a small rural community in Utah where a high percentage is Hispanic.
Our school is a small elementary school where most of the students receive free or reduced lunch because of the high poverty level. My students are all eager to learn and deserve the same education as students who attend schools in more affluent areas.
My Project
We need books that are full of adventure, humor, and stories that deal with life's issues that are age and grade appropriate. Young adult fiction books for middle school students help children deal with issues that arise in this time of their lives. These books are humorous, adventuresome, and deal with life issues. Help me give my students an outlet that will nurture their emotional development and instill the love of reading.
With all of the distractions that kids encounter today it is becoming harder and harder to get kids excited about reading.
My goal is to introduce my students to the great books that are out there to help them become lifelong readers. Please help make this possible with your donation.
