This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a prevention/ intervention reading teacher at a Title I school where 92% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch.

My kindergarten, first, and second-grade students are curious, funny, energetic, and hardworking, but COVID-19 has significantly impacted them, causing them to fall behind in their learning, especially in reading.

All of my students are currently reading well below grade level, so I provide targeted intervention support which is key to student progress and success in class.

Help my students meet their reading goals and become life-long readers! They strive to be successful, so your support will give them access to essential resources and supplies to provide the most targeted differentiated intervention in building foundational reading skills. My students are motivated and just need that extra support to help them fall in love with reading and learning.

My Project

As a reading intervention teacher, my goal is to instill a love for reading. I want to integrate these games into my intervention program to motivate my students and help them build phonics skills, phonemic awareness, and fluency in a fun way. Many of my students avoid reading because reading is difficult for them, so they will discover that reading can be fun through play and support their social-emotional development helping them feel successful as they learn to read. Games can ignite curiosity, interest, and motivation to achieve the ultimate goal of becoming lifelong readers! Thank you in advance for making a difference by donating and supporting this project.
